A Brief History

There appears to be a school of thought that the long-established marketing tool "Australia On Disc" is no more. As the founders of this product way back in 1988, we would now like to correct this misconception.

What no longer exists is "Brylar's Australia On Disc" a product which in essence, was a contractually agreed-to spin-off from "Australia On Disc 4"

Following the December 2003 shut-down of Dependable Database Data's business cd-rom division after a long-running and ultimately unsuccessful court encounter with Telstra over copyright issues, "Brylar's Australia On Disc" was by necessity, withdrawn from the market-place.

In deference to both the recent court ruling and the newly legislated and restructured Privacy Act, "Australia On Disc" will no longer offer sensitive residential "white page" information as has been the case for many years. Neither will the product seek to promote "yellow-page" data which these days has become rather passe, and has fallen into the "been there - done that!" category amongst some of the more cutting-edge marketing strategists.
